Introducing blast

Blast is a sturdy and discerning little literary magazine. It aims to provide space for the publication of high quality contemporary Australian poetry and other critical writing. Short stories with an edge, and succinct prose essays, are also included.

Blast is serious about poetry and the magazine has already built a reputation for publishing poetry of the first rank.

Blast does not set themes. The poems published in Blast are varied in subject and form - from traditional through to experimental. In selecting poems for publication in Blast we are always convinced by quality.

Subscriptions

Blast was re-constituted as a predominantly poetry magazine in March 2005. Blast is sold mainly by subscription, and in a few good bookshops.

Blast is published twice a year in March and September.
